Pre-Arrival & Visa Planning
- Short Visits (Check-ups/Consultation): No. Most international patients enter on a standard Social Visit Pass (Tourist Visa).
- Long-Term Treatment (>30 Days): If you require intensive treatment (e.g., Cancer care, Stroke Rehab), we can assist you in applying for a Medical e-Visa through the Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC). Please contact us before booking your flight.
- Yes. You can request the MHTC Meet & Greet Service at Penang International Airport.
- Note:
- You must request this at least 3 working days in advance via our International Patient Centre (+6012-498 3363). An officer will meet you at the arrival gate. Business hours only (Monday – Friday 8:30am – 17:00pm, Saturday 8:30am – 13:00pm) Malaysia Time.
- Valid Passport (6+ months validity).
- Printed Medical Reports & X-Rays (in English).
- List of current medications.
- Hospital Appointment Letter (Digital or Printed) – immigration officers may ask for this.
Arrival in Penang (Airport Logistics)
- Very Close: ~5 km.
- Travel Time: 10–15 minutes by car. (Unlike Georgetown hospitals, we are right next to the airport zone).
- Important: Grab drivers cannot pick you up at the main arrival curbside.
- Directions:
- Exit Door 1 at the Arrival Hall.
- Cross the road to the Multilevel Car Park.
- Go to the Ground Floor.
- Wait at the designated "E-Hailing Pickup Point".
No scheduled shuttle. We recommend using Grab (Download the app before flying) or buying a taxi coupon at the "Airport Limo" counter inside the arrival hall.
Medical Appointments & Health Screening
- WhatsApp Appointment Line: +60 16-613 3888 (Messages only).
- Please book at least 1 week in advance.
- Walk-ins: Allowed but you may face long wait times if the specialist is in surgery.
- Please fast (no food, only plain water) for 8–10 hours before your appointment.
- Location: Health Screening Centre, Level 3.
- Results: If screening is done by morning, reports are usually ready by 4:00 PM the same day.
Insurance, Payment & Costs
- Yes. We partner with Admedika, Across Asia Assist, AAI International SOS, and others.
- Critical Rule: You must present a valid Guarantee Letter (GL) upon admission for cashless service. Without a GL, you must pay a deposit and claim later ("Pay and Claim").
- Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) only. We do not accept foreign cash (USD, SGD, etc.) at the counter.
- Credit Cards: Visa, Mastercard, and Amex are accepted.
- Single Room: ~RM384 per night.
- 2-Bedded Room: ~RM221 per night.
- 4-Bedded Room: ~RM158 per night.
- Note:
- Room rates are estimates only.
- Rates include meals but exclude nursing fees (~RM50-100/day).
- Medical Cases: ~RM3,000 – RM5,000.
- Surgical Cases: Full estimated bill amount (varies by procedure and case by case).
